AIRI-Wine France: prestige beats technology — for now
Romanée-Conti leads the AI recommendations with a technically weak website. What the benchmark of the 20 largest French domaines shows.

France confirms one assumption — and refutes another. Confirmed: prestige beats technology. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti leads on 42% visibility, although its website reaches only AIRI 35/100. Refuted: that this holds for everyone. From the middle of the field onwards, visibility correlates clearly with machine readability.
The technical leader is Gérard Bertrand (87/100) — southern France’s largest estate is visibly investing in AI readability. But the industry average of 13% shows that even the world’s most famous domaines are absent from the majority of buying-advice answers.
The ranking
The first two columns show the outcome — how often AI names the estate. The last two show the website side — how well AI systems can read it. The two measurements are independent and often diverge; that divergence is the finding.
